I need to get some money coming in from another source. And while getting the comics off the ground would be ideal, I think I may need to start looking into the world of kids books.
I'm not sure if this is actually more lucrative a career or is just a pace. I've got experience with kids of course. That doesn't necessarily translate into being able to compose a worthwhile piece of literature for them.
I've also started scripting the 4 pager I'll be doing for the next Saddle Sore anthology. Those guys have done quality work and I want to live up to their high bar. Timothy bemoaned the amount of research I did and how little transferred into the actual comic. I'm trying to make sure I tell a story, not a history lesson, so I think the decision of what to include is a sound one.
After these projects I think I'm going to spend some time on draftsmanship specifically instead of jumping into more sequentials. I want to build up my toolset.
